SPM offers Intensified Surface Finishing for all applications. We do this process in house thus creating a quick turnaround time to shorten your downtime! This process is offered to help reduce friction and drag in the engines moving or sliding parts.
ISF Transmission Surface Finishing. When two metal parts come into contact, friction causes heat to build up. These high temperatures lead to wear over time, reduce efficiency and create the need for replacement. ISF combines the benefits of low RMS, non-directional mass finishing with chemical accelerators. Refining surfaces to mirror-like brightness and very low surface roughness-Improved Performance-Increased life expectancy-Reduced friction-Lower torque requirements while minimizing surface wear thereby reducing operating temperatures.
Why the ISF Process is important to any application:
...
Less inertia = Less friction = Less fuel consumed
Reduction of frictio
n of metal to metal contact parts = Less wear and contact fatigue
Lower operating temperatures = Increased power output and efficiency
Increased power density = Options of larger engines or smaller transmissions
Increased durability = Lower replacement costs and fewer failures
Additional Benefits:
Improved bending fatigue resistance
Reduced lubrication maintenance
Quieter operation
Reduces rotational torque
No metallurgical degradation
No geometrical degradation
